Having Sex before Marriage

Having sex is a sexual activity between a man and a woman; it could also be a sexual activity between a woman and a woman, or a man and a man, but in this essay I would like to write is about the first one. The activity is the most pleasant activity. People are allowed to do that after getting marriage. That is only a statement; in reality many people have done it before getting marriage.
In Indonesia, Jakarta especially, having love before marriage used to be a shame. However, that was the past time, now the cultures have change. When I was in Jakarta I had found “dreadful” facts about men and women living together, free-sex, and how the society sees those1. I stayed for a while in my cousin’s friend’s boarding house. In that boarding house, men and women living together is usual, even though they are not married, or in Indonesia we call it “kumpul kebo”. How the society sees this phenomena, they see this as a usual thing, that a conclusion that I take. Another thing that makes it ironic is the boarding house is near mosque. Another fact that I had experienced was when one of my friends asked me whether I have ever made love or not, when I said, I have not, they laughed at me. They said I haven’t synchronized to the Jakarta ways, which means I have to make love.
What about in Padang, the condition is not big different with in Jakarta. My friend’s ex-girlfriend had made love with her boyfriend. A few months ago a porn video, which stared by a student of a senior high school in Padang and the man from another high-school, had discovered. Because of those facts I am afraid how is the next generation would be? What about my sisters? How about my future wife would be? How about my friends, who are still virgin, can they keep in that way? And the most important question is how would this country be? The research has not done yet. There are so many why’s and how’s that I keep searching for the answers.
In contrast, when I thought doing free-sex is usual in the West. Just like Hollywood movies that I have watched. People do it as easy as buying a candy, you can do it with a girl that you just met. My thoughts have changed after meeting and doing conversation with my lecturer, Ms. Brita. She said the lives of the Western are not completely as the same as in the movies2. The statement is strengthened by Ms. Brita friends, Jennifer and Alice. They said Americans give big respect to virginity. Parents have taught their children to wait until they get married.
Having sex in my society, depends on me, fits with group society. If your friends do that, you have to do that too. It also fits with indirect conversation. In my society, it is rude to talk about sex.
Having sex is the most pleasant activity. The decision, having sex or not, is depending on you. However, there would be better if you wait until marriage and give your husband or wife your virginity. Or if you make decision to do so, it would be better for you to do safe sex. Just think before you do that, especially for women. Once you do that your hymen will not be back.

Nowadays, vacation is something necessary. It could help us back to our 100% condition, relax our mind, and refresh our body. Many options in going vacation, in general, they are separated by 2 options, they are abroad or domestic. The purpose of this essay is to compare those options.
First, let us talk about vacation abroad. Vacation abroad needs much money for buying airplane ticket, getting passport, reserving hotel, and buying souvenir. The advantages of vacation abroad are we visit other countries, it could add our knowledge about their traditions, cultures, and habits and we could meet people from other countries.
Second, let us talk about vacation domestic or local vacation. Vacation domestic needs less money for airplane ticket, hotel, and buying souvenir. We do not need a passport. The advantages of vacation domestic are we can know more about our country, so we can more appreciate more our country and our cultures and it needs less money.

Myself

Me
I am Defrian Anhas everyone calls me Idef, but not many people call me Def. I love both of my call names. And actually I have other call names. I was born in Padang at 21 December 1990 in M. Djamil Hospital.  I am 170 centimeters height and 60 kilograms weight. I spent my childhood times in Padang too.
When I was almost 5 years old I entered a kindergarten named TK Baiturrahmah. After I graduated from that kindergarten, I continued my study to an elementary school named SD Baiturrahmah. I studied in that elementary school only until the middle of fourth grade.
In the middle of fourth grade I got chickenpox. Because of that disease I did not study for a month. After I recovered from that disease, I did not want to continue my study in SD Baiturrahmah, so my parents moved me to an elementary school in my mother’s village. I stayed there with my grandparents from my mother and my aunt. I studied in the elementary school only until I passed fourth grade.
When I was fifth grader, I moved to my father’s village and I studied in an elementary school there too. For my second movement, I moved, because my family moved too. I stayed in my father’s village with my family. We stayed there only for a year. After I passed the fifth grade, and my brother graduated elementary school. We moved again to Padang, but we didn’t move to our own home. We moved to a rent house in Parupuk Tabing St.
When we moved to Padang, my parents moved me to SD Angkasa II, Padang. I studied there until I graduated. After I graduated I continued my study to junior high school named SMP 13. In junior high school I became lazier. Now we skip my experienced along junior high. We continue to the worst part of my life. Why do I call like that? Because it was the time I really felt down and alone. What was that? That was time when the result of UN informed. The result was really disappointed me. I failed, but that time although we failed the test we could continue to senior high school. I continued my study to SMAN 7 Padang. In the remedial test I failed again that was really made me down. I did not study at all. Until one I realized that my feature is in my hand. I was back to school and I graduated from SMA Muhammadiyah, Tiku.
Now I am a college student in Padang State University. I made promise myself I will never be lazy anymore. Even though it is hard to do, but I have to do it for the better future.

Event

 August 17th
August 17th is the day when the Indonesia people celebrate our independence day. That is really important day for us. In that day in 1945 we were free from colonialism. That was not easy to be free from colonialism. Many patriots died. It spent a lot of time and a lot of money. To respect many patriots died. Every August 17th we always held many ceremonies, races, and parades
.
Here some activities we do in the day, the first is flag ceremony. It is held in the morning. The ceremony usually takes long time, it is about six hours. In that ceremony we flutter our national flag. It is usually in large field.

After we are done with flag ceremony, we have some more fun. We held many races, such as climb nut tree (lomba panjat pinang), and eating crackers race (lomba makan kerupuk). I will try to explain to you one by one. The first is climb nut tree race .  Maybe for foreign people, it hears strange. What we need is a high nut trees, oil and prizes of course.
Nut Tree Race (Lomba Panjat Pinang)
All the body of the tree will fill by oil. And the prizes hang on the top of the tree. Everyone will try to reach the prizes. If you see it, you will laugh because everyone who will reach the prizes will be black, caused by the oil. The second is eating crackers race. What you need is crackers and rope. The cheap will hang on. And you will try to reach the crackers only with your mouth.
Eating Cheap Crackers Race (Lomba Makan Kerupuk)

Those are funny things what we do in Independence Day, but not only that we make our country to be better day by day. Because that is what our patriots wanted.

Describing People

My Sister
My name is Defrian Anhas, everyone calls me Idef. I have big family.I have 2 brothers and 4 sisters. My 2 brothers are Oktavian Anhas and Ilham Agustian Anhas.my 4 sisters are Mutiara Nuary Anhas, Rizqa Putri Anhas, Annisa Fajria Anhas and Debbi Rahmadani Anhas. From all of my family members that one I really love is my second sister.
Her name is Rizqa Putri Anhas. At home everyone calls her Putri or Dedek, but in her school her friends call her Rizqa. She is beautiful. Her face look likes my mother and skin look likes my father. She has pointed nose, black long straight hair, and brown skin. She was born in Padang on 19 September 1997, so she is almost 14 years old.

She graduated from SD Tanah Air, Ulak Karang. Since she was in elementary school she always made me and my family proud of her. She always got good marks. From the first grade until the sixth grade, she was always in top 10. Until now she never makes us disappointed.
Now she studies in SMP 1 Padang in first grade. Last semester she got first rank in her class. In the mid semester of second semester she got first rank, too. That really made me proud of her. Another thing that makes me proud of he is her ambition, when she grows up she wants to be a doctor.
There are only two things that I do not like from her are she has bad tempered and she is egoist. I think as her brother I have to give her sample. Not only give sample, but I have to be the sample. I mean I am bad tempered and egoist too. I have to start control my emotion and not being egoist anymore, before I ask her to change.
